Fundación Plan 21

Description of the Alliance:

In an Argentinean non-profit  that works in diverse programs such as sustainable tourism, human development, protected communities, zero carbon initiatives and environmental education.

CYD Certified  supports the Plan 21 initiative of Zero Carbon, that proposes to bring awareness to climatic change and offers mechanisms for individuals and companies to reduce their carbon footprint, as well as to contribute voluntarily to awareness and programs relating to gas emission reduction, forestation and contribution the management of native forests.

In sustainable tourism, Plan 21 promotes sustainable and responsible initiatives in the southern cone.

Description of the Alliance:

Is a certification method that promotes good practices in sustainable agriculture, conforming to the standards of organisms to which the services are provided. It promotes certification and sustainable tourism.

Is a private, non-profit organization renowned nationally and internationally for the conservation efforts in El Salvador.

CYD Certified  and SalvaNATURA promote the Smart Voyager certification program and sustainability in the tourism industries in different nations of the American continent.

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) is an international initiative dedicated to the promoting of sustainable tourism practices across the globe. The GSTC has been growing in influence and is currently active across the globe in various nations. It represent a diverse and global membership including UN agencies, various tourism companies, hotel chains and tourism councils across the world. The GSTS is the main international promoter of knowledge and understanding the practices of sustainable tourism in order to conserve the environment and support local communities.

Red de Certificación de turismo de las américas

Description of the Alliance:

Tourism Certification Network of the Americas was launched at the end of 2003 to promote sustainable tourism in the region through various initiatives based upon respect, mutual efforts, and balance in the exchange of information and experience. The Networks objectives include the establishment of a common set of tools, the creation of a ‘best practices for tourism management,’ and a marketing strategy all aiming to promote sustainable tourism based on national and international standards. Tourism Certification Network of the Americas further defines strategies to promote participation in tourism operations concentrating in small operators to implement best practices and certification.

CYD Certified promotes the certification of tourism operation in the region and supports norms and processes of sustainable certification.

RAS

Description of the Alliance:

The Network for Sustainable Agriculture (RAS) promotes efficient agricultural systems that contribute to efficiently, biodiversity conservation, human development through the creation of social and environmental norms.

The RAS is a coalition of conservation groups that link agricultural workers with responsible consumers by using the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal of approval. RAS aimst o promote sustainability recognizing the welfare of the environment and communities is dependent upon one another. We promote a healthy, socially just and economically viable development, through norms for sustainable agriculture.

Along with RAS, CYD certified promotes certification of sustainable agriculture through Rainforest Alliance certification as well as encouraging sustainability in the agricultural sector, using certification as a mechanism for sustainability

Smart Voyager

Description of the Alliance:

Smart Voyager is a program of sustainable certification for touristic operations across South America.

Smart Voyager was conceived in collaboration with Rainforest Alliance in 1998, as a method to promote minimizing the environmental effects tourism causes in diverse ecosystems and communities.

In 2002, Smart Voyages was recognized by UNESCO as an example to be implemented in all World Heritage Sites. Currently, Smart Voyager is a founding member of the Network of Sustainable Tourism Certification for the Americas.

CYD Certified is in charge of the Smart Voyager certification program.
